Main LifeCasts List

Tap this + button to add a new LifeCast - this will take you straight to the configuration page for the new LifeCast, where you can name it and set up a blog

Tap here to edit the LifeCasts - re-order them, or delete them.

This is the list of all your LifeCasts - tap one to view it's entries. You can have multiple LifeCasts - perhaps one for work and one for your home life, one for a party you attend, one for a holiday you go on.

The title of this LifeCast

Tap here to edit the events in a lifecat. Events are always shown in the reverse order in which the occurred. Tapping Edit allows you to remove individual events.

This is a photo event - a thumbnail of the photo is shown on the left. Tap this row to view the full size version of the photo

This is a text event - a text icon is shown on the left, and a snippet of the text is displayed. Tap this row to view the full content

Tap this to view the configuration screen, where you can rename the LifeCast and configure a blog

Tap this to add a photo from your libary to your LifeCast, or (if you are using an iPhone) take a photo with the iPhone camera.

Tapping this will create a new text entry in your LifeCast.

 

Event View

This view shows you a text event in your LifeCast. Photo events are very similar too, except instead of the text area they display your photo.

Tap here to be taken back to the list of all events in your LifeCast.

Tapping here will take you directly to the next and previous events in the LifeCast.

This is the title for this event. Tap here to enter a title or alter an exsiting title

this is the main content are for this text event. Tap here to enter your text, or edit existing text.

Tap here to delete this event. Remember, once you delete something, it's gone for good !

Tap here to set the location information for this event to your current location. If this icon has a blue background it means that you already have a location fix for this event and tapping here will give you the option view view the location in the Maps application.

 

Configuration Screen

This screen allows you to set the title and settings for your LifeCast

Tap on the title to rename your LifeCast to something appropriate

This switch turns on automatic locaiton detection. Every time you create a new event in your LifeCast, your position is determined and stored with that event information. You can then share this information when you post to your blog if you so choose.

Tapping this switch lets you set up your blog for use with LifeCast. At the moment, we support Tumblr and Blogger blogs, with support for other popular blogs on the way soon.

 

 

Configuring a blog

Tapping the 'Post Events to a Blog' switch allows you to configure your blog for use with LifeCast.

Tap here and choose which kind of blog you wish to use. A the moment your choices are Tumblr or Blogger. You will need to set up your blog with these services separately - please go to Blogger or Tumblr to do that. Please note: If you want to post photos to your blog, please choose Tumblr

Enter the username for your blog here. Sometimes this is the same as your email address, but not always. Please check the information from your blog provider.

Enter your blog password here.

You can choose to publish a link to Google Maps in every entry you post to your blog. To turn that on, tap on this switch.

When you have entered your username and password details, you must confirm the settings by tapping on this button. Until your settings have been confirmed, you will not be able to publish events to your blog. If you see an error message after testing your connection, please double check the username and password settings in your blog configuration.

Please Note: unfortunately, we are unable to provide support for your blog software. If you have problems configuring LifeCast, please log into your blog website on your computer, and check that the username and password you use in LifeCast match the correct settings.

 

Publishing to your Blog

Once you have set up your Blog configuration, publishing an event is as easy as tapping the publish button in the LifeCast events view. Published events show a check mark to indicate that they have already been sent to your blog.

You can also publish an event directly from the event view by tapping the publish button on the toolbar.
