In Video: eBooks Get Kids Reading
January 12, 2010
We’ve been spreading the word about our range of eBooks for a while now, and as our library of titles available on iTunes grows, we thought it was about time we dusted off our video camera to put together this short video.
A big thank you to everyone involved for giving up their free time to help make it.
Incidentally, we’ve also just added an additional 11 new titles to our range of FREE eBooks, giving you the chance to read one chapter from each eBook in the Mad Myths, Tales of the Dark Forest and Colin the Barbarian series.

Hot Off The Press

Authors Steve Barlow and Skidmore (a.k.a. The 2 Steves) have been featured on literary website, Fantasy Book Review.
Speaking about their range of eBooks for the iPhone and iPod touch, the 2 Steves said:
We’ve been showing kids all our titles, including Vernon Bright, on the iPhone/iPod touch during our school visits, and they love the idea of reading on these devices – for the disaffected readers they’re not reading a book, they’re using an app (there’s a world of difference!) and everyone enjoys the rolling text on Star Bores and the quizzes.

eBooks Taking Over iPhone
November 3, 2009

UK broadsheet The Telegraph has today reported that eBooks have become the top ranking application for the iPhone and iPod touch.
Since it launched in July 2008, games have dominated the App Store, with thousands of new titles launched each month. But according to a new report published by Flurry, September 2009 saw the number of eBooks released on the App Store overtake games for the first time.
eBooks have since continued to maintain their lead over games, and currently account for 20% of all apps available on the App Store, suggesting that Apple’s devices are rapidly becoming the platform of choice for publishers and authors.

Speaking to Skidmore, Browne said: ”This is a great idea! Anything that makes reading cool and gets kids reading for pleasure must be a good thing.”
